I have made this card for a friend i met on line recently.  She is having a birthday, well by the time this post has gone live her birthday will be past...

I am using a great sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches to make this card.  The sketches are so perfect that i use them all week long.

Here is my card using Tilda with Amaryllis from Magnolia and the sentiment is from Digital Delights:
I used a charm from my stash and a Doo Hickey border die.  The leaves are a MS punch.

Baby, "It's You"!

{Pin}spirational Challenges this week is all about babies, or the white/pink combo..or whatever inspires you when you see the weekly {Pin}spirational photo!

This is my last week on the DT at {Pin}spirational Challenges..Deanne and the team are awesome and anyone looking for a DT home would be lucky to be there!

Here is my card using "Cuddle Cloud Baby" from MelJen's Designs:
Again, i used my Marianne Creatables die LR0242...it's a wonderful die and so worth the money.  You can get this die just by requesting it from Dutch Paper Crafts...i believe she has the best shipping!  I also used a flower from Michaels $2 bin.  Leaf punch is MS.

This image from MelJen's Designs is a great beginner's image as there is not much to color and you don't need many copics/markers for this.  One other suggestion would be to paper piece the cloud for more contrast...a print cloud would be wonderful!

This is one of my favorite wedding images and i've used this tons of times.  It is also my favorite because it can be colored up quickly.

I am making this card for The Greeting Farm Double Take challenge, the image is called "Kissy Kissy"
One thing i love about this card is the new die i just used, it is from Joy Craft and is a Lace Rectangle EC-DIE-015956 die..it is available at Dutch Paper Crafts..all you have to do is email her.

Dutch Paper Crafts New Release using Memory Box Dies & stamps

I wanted to share with you all some new dies and stamps that Dutch Paper Crafts is releasing...what is special about these dies is that they are retired..so if you are liking them you need to snatch them up because when they are gone, Dutch Paper Crafts will no longer be able to order them.

I've made several cards on my blog using some of this release, but now i am making some cards with the just the retired dies plus a few "filler" dies.

First i am featuring the Memory Box Pinecone Globe Wooden stamp E1824.  For this card i stamped the image using clear embossing ink and then i used Tim Holtz distress embossing powder..on top of that i added a clear embossing powder and that is why you are seeing a "sheen" to this circle.    I've matted this circle using Memory box Cornerstone Seal die #98293..it perfectly frames this stamped image.  The aqua paper is embossed using Cuttlebug folder.  To make these pinecones i used the small circle from either the Memory Box Gothic Rosette #98249 or Woodrow Rosette #98250 .  I cut out 5 circles and cut one in half , sanded the edges and hole punched the centers using a smaller hole punch than my toothpick that i threaded the circles on.
To see the whole technique, check out this older youtube video i made here.
I also used these dies for the foliage fillers, Marianne Creatables #LR0249 and  Doo Hickey die "Heart Swirl", silver fern- McGill punch.

Now for the second card using the other stamp in this release called Memory Box Leafy Branch Globe E1850.

This card is made similar to the once above except i've used different colors and few different supplies.  Close up below:

I still used Marianne Creatables #LR0249 for the foliage filler, however this time i made a flower using the zig zag circle from one of the Rosettes instead of the pinecone and i added a pearl stamen to the center of the circles.  The pink buds cluster is from Magnolia stamps.  I've also used a LifeStyle embossing folder called "Floral" for the pink paper.  This is how i made this flower and how i placed the foliage (the foliage was cut in "half" to make it work.  First i cut out 5 zig zag circles, sanded and hole punched them using a a hole large enough to thread the end of the stamen through it.  Next i slightly dampened each circle and wadded them up, unfolded them and stacked them on top of each other.  Threaded the stamen through the layers and let it dry (or use a heat gun for faster drying results).  I used a glue dot to keep the layers tight on the bottom.  Now cut your foliage and place it on your card then add your flower and extra "buds" if you want.

It's All about Someone's Birthday!

I have a friend with an upcoming Birthday, but good chance this post won't go live until her birthday is past..  She loves lavender...so that was my theme!

I am also designing this card for Dutch Paper Crafts blog 2...a great place to see things in print...so you can take your time and check it out.

I am using Memory box #98293 Cornerstone Seal (3.2 x 3.2"), #98494 Falana Circle (3.9 diameter), #98250 Woodrow Rosette (again remember this die comes as a strip that you gather accordion style 1" x 5.5" and a center piece 1" diameter), Cherry Lynn B175 Deco J (2")

Here is my card:
Can you see what i did?  I added the Cherry Lynn dies to the corners and the Falana circle behind the Cornerstone seal.  I diecut a circle to fit on top of the Cornerstone seal and added a short piece of the Woodrow Rosette gathered strip as the cupcake wrapper.  I then cut out 3 of the Woodrow Rosette's centers and turned those into my "frosting".  I used a small hand punched heart for the cherry on top.

Close up of the details:

 The strip die:

Inside of the card, i had a some of the strip left to do this:
Oh but wait, my almost 4yr old granddaughter loves to die cut too, so i helped her with this tiny card (2.5 x 2.5")(still left over from the one strip):

Feathers and Owls

I have the privilege of designing for Dutch Paper Crafts, a great online die store (and more)!  For this release i am making some projects exclusively for the Dutch Paper Crafts 2 blog...where we share our creations in pictures!

This card was created using Memory Box dies, #98293 Cornerstone Seal (measuring 3.2 x 3.2") and #98250 Woodrow Rosette (again the die is a rectangle strip that is "gathered accordion style to make a circle) (measures- 1 x 5.5" and the center is 1" in diameter)  I also used a Memory Box Wooden Rubber stamp called Pinecone Globe #E1824

Here is my card:

close up with the details:
I used a new technique with this stamp, i first embossed it using Tim Holtz distressing embossing powder and then i inked up the whole thing using an embossing ink pad and then i added clear embossing powder to the whole thing, giving it a glossy finish.  I used The Greeting Farm's owl stamp. I also used our own Sigi's handmade flowers..she made the aqua flowers on this card...they are gorgeous!

Whoo La La- an owl Parisian style

Actually, this card was made for Dutch Paper Crafts Blog2...have you heard of this blog???  It's pretty awesome...you get to see the up coming dies that Darlene (the owner) sells at Dutch Paper Crafts..or right from the blog2.

It's a bit different than another online store, because all you do is email Darlene and she will send you an invoice.  Don't see something, just ask her..good chance she can get what you are looking for!

What i'd like to share with you is an oldie but goodie Memory Box die #98293 Cornerstone Seal (measures 3.2 x. 3.2"), #98249 Gothic Rosette (measurements are tricky...the actual die to make the accordion rosette measures 1 x 5.5", but when it is gathered up it measures 2.25 in diameter, the center measures 1"...so would also make a great sentiment circle.) I also used a Memory Box wooden stamp called Leafy Branch Globe E1850 and it measures 2.75" in diameter..and fits perfectly inside of the Cornerstone Seal.  I've also used LifeStyle Crafts Nesting Frame DC0181 to make my card base frame.

close up to see the details of the stamp and the dies:
Some more info about this card.  I stamped the image using clear embossing ink and used Zink Grapefruit embossing powder.  The Eiffel Tower is a charm found at Michaels.  The leaf is a MS punch.  The Owl is a stamp from The Greeting Farm.
