Happy Birthday to my friend, Aga!

For this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches, our sponsor is Sweet n Sassy stamps
I have decided to make this card for my special friend, Aga!  She will get this card before it goes live, well because her birthday is before this goes live. :0)

Ever had a day like this?  I made my card thinking i had the right sketch and the right sponsor together..but no, i didn't.  I had made a complete card with the wrong sponsor..so what did i do???  Well, I totally didn't throw away my first "opps", i carefully removed the image and started over again with the right sketch.  Good thing because i liked this card better for a birthday card!

And the end of the story..i have a card base for another sketch coming up next month!  Yay!

Here is my card, please come and join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches for this challenge:

Side view:

Are you wondering what i did with this card..at least with the image..the images remind me of the duck that Usborne books use..and they are hiding behind and in things all throughout their books.  I thought i'd use that idea, and cut out the image from the one image i own of Cocoa Mouse and this one came from Cocoa Mouse Latte.

The dies i used:
Lacy squares- Lifestyle crafts
corner die- Cheery Lynn

Your Next Stamp Digital Cuddles 3 ways!

I want to share with you some Tips and Tricks for using Your Next Stamp's Digital Stamps, as you noticed two weeks ago, Angel from the Digital Design team shared this digital stamp called Cuddles and did some paper piecing.  This week i'd like to show you how to add a text box to your digital images.

I have used the program PhotoShop..there are many editing programs out there and some that are free.  For this post i will tell you how i used my PhotoShop. (Look at the image below)

1. Open up your image
2. Select "T" for text, using your mouse make a box (don't worry where you make the box you will be able to move it where you want it later)
3. On the top toolbar select a font you'd like to use.  I used Silom. Your font is probably black, you can change that by selecting the color box at the bottom left (in my picture it is red because i selected red) A color box will pop up and you can select another color.  If you have already typed your word, you will have to highlight it and pick the color again. To make your word larger you can select the text size at on the top tool bar.  Your size will depend on your image and your size preference and font you decided to use.  If you make your font large and it's not fitting inside of your box, you can use the squares on the corners to make your box larger (or smaller).
4. Once you are happy with your text you can select the top arrow button on the side toolbar.  It will make the "text box" border disappear. Now you can drag your word where ever you want on your image.
5.  Take note..  DO NOT SAVE this image unless you have a copy of the original.  What i like to do, is once i like what i have made i will "SAVE AS" and then i save it as a .jpg..some people like a png.
6.  Let's say you messed up along the way, what i have found to do is i can select edit and it will let me take a step backwards.  Or let's say you want to start over completely..just delete this and start again.
7.  Once you are happy, you can  "SAVE AS" like a said and print off your digi's like you normally do.
PS.  There might be an easier way to accomplish this task, i am giving you the way i learned how to do it.  :0)
For those of you wanting a youtube video, i found this one, it only shows how to add the text box not the font color: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3i1MOngavs
Ok and i found this video with even more detail!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIpX3HtjGSA
Now for the fun...I took a look at this cute bunny and said,  Cuddles, you would make an awesome Valentines, Save the Date or Easter card...i am thinking maybe you could figure out some more idea..if you do please share them by leaving a link in the comments here or entering our challenge this month (Link is here)!  I'd be super excited to see what you come up with!!

Here are my samples using these ideas:
"Kiss Me" Cuddles also using the Your Next Stamp Fry Box Die found here.
"Save the Date" Cuddles also using the Your Next Stamp Photo frame found here.
*Take note*, i would actually add the date to the heart as well!

So glad you stopped by, have fun crafting!

Sherri Baldy's 3D Decoupage My Bestie with Owl

There is a DT call for Sherri Baldy's 3D Decoupage My Besties images (see link for DT call in challenges).  I thought i'd give it a try because i mostly fussy cut my images.   I do like to color my images, this just gives me more time to fussy cut.

So when you "apply" for the DT call you get a page of colored images that are already to be cut out.  I've decided, that if i get the position, i will be investing in more foam tape or glue.

The image i received turns out to be perfect for my granddaughters birthday in March...so i went with that idea and added the "number 5".

Here is my card:
Some extra photos for you so you can see the dimension:
Close up with the added glitter/gelly roll:

Pretty sweet, huh?  A bit more about my card:
The small doily is a retired Memory Box die, buckle doily #98220 layering the small doily is also a Memory Box die , the upper right corner die 6002/0148 is from Joy Crafts/Noor, the lace die at the bottom is from Cheery Lynn DL134, the bird cage #802 is from Poppystamps.  The number 5 is from the Advent calendar #98642 from Memory Box..sooo cute..they are actually ornaments and this is the "cut out" from the ornament.
Heart charm is from Spoilt Rotten Beads in the UK,

 Happy Hopping!!

Don't i look impressive using French?  I wish i did..i have no idea what i said..but i know Love is in there.. and i was told it meant "Love Song".  At any rate, this image is so pretty and i totally wanted this to look romantic and pretty...
So the image is called Chanson d'Amour and is in the Digi Section at Your Next Stamp.
Here are the YNS supplies i used on my card:

How i made my card and the rest of the supplies:
I went the paper piecing route.  I printed the whole image out on parchment type paper and out of white cardstock.  I ripped the edges and inked them and rolled them up.  I then printed the heart out of a pink subtle paper and cut it out also.  Next i shaded the doves with W1, 3 and fussy cut them out.  i added thin foam dots under them.  The edges of the heart have Stickles/diamond.  The l'amour is colored in with a gold sparkle pen.  In the background i used a YNS die called Photo frame, the gold w/dots doily is from Memory Box, the foliage is from Joy Craft, the heart beneath the flowers is from Cheery Lynn and the corner die is also from Cheery Lynn.

Challenges:
